Changing Pediatric Dentistry

I was born and raised in the Texas Panhandle in the Beef Capital of the World, Hereford, Texas. My parents raised my three sisters and I, along with all of our family livestock, in a value system that rewarded hard work, ethical choices, and a family and community-first philosophy. Under the example of my mother, who would go on to spend over thirty years as a special education educator, I set out to find my greatest place of impact. I spent my teen years as a camp counselor, coaching tennis, teaching swim lessons, and learning the generous rewards of showing up and investing in the lives of people who looked up to me.

As I grew up, one of the community members I aspired to emulate was our local dentist, whose involvement spanned across schools, charities, and individual aid. I set off for college and attended Baylor University for my first year. And while I didn’t end up following one of my community-impact leads of becoming a medical missionary, I went on to be successful at Texas A&M University before ultimately being accepted into dental school at  The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where I earned my DDS. As one of the country’s most competitive top-tier dental schools, I “cut my teeth” alongside the experts.

I went on to practice dentistry for two years in Corpus Christi before returning to San Antonio to complete an unmatched residency, where I worked and shadowed industry leaders to solve complex dental challenges I wouldn’t have had access to elsewhere. It was here that I learned I had a natural ability to help kids not only relax at the dentist, but also enjoy and understand the experience better, setting them up for a lifetime of success and impact on generations
to come.

For 12 years, I carved out a niche as one of the most sought-after pediatric dentists in DFW at Fort Worth Children’s Dentistry. I am privileged to see some of my earliest patients starting on the football field for D1 programs or launching careers on Broadway in NYC. From parents who share that their children love going to the dentist to the heartfelt and often silly stories carried through the children’s voices over the years, I have found a home in this work. In 2024, I brought this home and my functional pediatric expertise to the Dallas and Park Cities area.

Practice Philosophy:

Oral care is one of the earliest predictors and gateways to disease if not properly and expertly cared for, and our functional pediatric dentistry approach ensures visits to our office go far beyond just checking the box on semi-annual visits. Within our tagline, “Where Little Smiles Grow Big,” is an emphasis on a long-term relationship with patients that includes preventative, doctor-driven care to span the whole childhood.

Our approach includes a look at whole body systems, healthy habit development, nutrition, and more. Beyond the traditional approach, you can expect alternative therapies offered on-site, at-home recommendations, and a doctor who prioritizes and pays attention to the needs of the family and the child. We believe when our bodies are healthy, our smiles are healthy.

In a time where it is increasingly uncommon for a medical professional to own and operate their own practice, Dr. Nelson Beville has been intentional and strategic in every decision around this practice, making sure everything from the front desk to the architecture of the space to the experience parents and children share here is of a quality reflected by his hardworking, community-focused roots. He cannot wait to meet you!

“fun, playful, and patient with the kiddos.”

It’s hard to find a pediatric dentist who is fun, playful, and patient with the kiddos. His staff is fantastic and the office is beautiful new construction. He really thought of all the detail to make kids feel comfortable. Cheers to the Beville pediatric team!
